Itzik Kornfein

Itzhak (Itzik) Kornfein (born September 24, 1971 in Jerusalem) is an Israeli goalkeeper who plays for Beitar Jerusalem football club. His surname means "fine bread/grain" in German/Yiddish.

Itzik Kornfein started playing for the youth of Hapoel Jerusalem but after moving to Beitar in 1995, he became a true symbol and icon for Beitar fans. Itzik is the Captain of the Beitar Jerusalem squad.

Kornfein is a highly skillful goalkeeper, flexible and intelligent. He is especially good at "one on one" situations and a good penalty kick stopper. He previously played for Israeli national team though he never had a permanent role there. He is considered one of best goalkeepers in Israel.

Kornfein has won several titles for Beitar including back-to-back Championships in 1997 and 1998.
