[edit] Italian KC-135s

Just wanted to let you know that I reverted your reversion, as Italy operates 4 KC-135s, pending the arrival of the new KC-767s. I've also added a citation documenting that. Akradecki 06:37, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please chime in if you have a view

There's an interesting experience going on over at WikiProject California, and WikiProject Southern California.

Some time ago, WikiProject California members had placed their project tags on all articles about California cities. Those tags have been in place for some time. Recently certain members of WikiProject Southern California, after discussion on that project's talk page (only), decided to remove the WikiProject California tags for (almost all) Southern California cities, and replace the tags with WikiProject Southern California tags - only.

That is, the WikiProject Southern California members didn't simply add the WikiProject Southern California tag to Southern California cities, the WikiProject California tags were completely removed. This was done apparently without consultation with the WikiProject California members.

We are gathering responses to the following questions on those projects' talk pages:

  • Do you have a view whether the WikiProject California tag should be removed from a large number of cities in Southern California?
  • Do you have a view whether city article for Southern California cities should have more than one WikiProject tag?

Please let us know if you have a view! Spamreporter1 15:55, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Are you the assistant to the regional manager of Wikipedia monitoring? No more worries out of this guy, but just curious. That George Harrison articles really needs its citations added by the way.

Why did you delete my fix to Arab-Israeli conflict ? You call 'muslims fomenting hatred' as an NPOV ? Just doing my duty to erase biased material from the media in order to justify Aggression against the arabs.

[edit] WikiProject Aviation proposal

There is currently a proposal to create an Aviation WikiProject, which would serve to clarify how all the aviation related projects relate, and help with interproject editing. See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Aircraft#Proposal_Recap for how the projects hierarchy. Part of the reorganization proposes that WikiProject Defunct Airlines become a task force of Wikipedia:WikiProject_Airlines (or perhaps the Aviation Project itself). For an idea of how task forces work, take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Military_history. They have a number of task forces, listed here. As described by them, "task forces are informal groups of editors gathered for collaborative work on a particular topic within the field of military history; all project members are encouraged to participate in any that interest them." The benefit of such a system it that the sub-topics have all the resources of the overall project at their disposal. For instance, the Military history project banner, is placed on every military history page, and the related task forces are listed at the bottom of it. All military history related articles are thereby joined under one roof. I just happened to stumble upon your project, and had until now never realized it existed. By joining forces with another project you will benefit from increased exposure. If you have any ideas or comments, please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft. - Trevor MacInnis (Contribs) 02:19, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

yo, whats up dude. sorry if i caused any problems with my vandalism. Just having some fun. Anyway see you. --WarAdamEarl 23:17, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

He left the same message on my talk page, and I don't buy it. The changes made during the vandalism spree were deliberately sneaky, with legit looking edit summaries that had nothing whatsoever to do with the edits made. An attempt to cover tracks. - Pod Bay Door 23:21, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
Also reported ME for vandalism, after I reverted many sneaky nonsense edits he was making. - Pod Bay Door 23:31, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Barto

It would help if you learn something about the world of lute and its music, performers, scholars etc.Galassi 21:02, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Your comment is very patronizing in its tone. Superlatives are superlatives, and deserve scrutiny since a Neutral Point of View is a pillar of Wikipedia, you should be able to cite a statement that someone is THE FOREMOST 'insert-whatever-claim-here'. You didn't say "among the foremost", but "THE formost". You don't understand the difference, apparently. If you can't find any citations for such statements (how hard can it be?), how does the average reader who happens to read the article KNOW it's true or not? That's not encyclopedic, and I stand by the edits I made. Just to be clear, you don't own that article. - Itsfullofstars 21:13, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

My apologies, but it can be irritating to see ininformed comments by individuals who are not privy to the goings-on in the very small world of lutes, naturally never covered by any media. You simply will not find any citations on the subject of Lutenistic Quality. So you should legitimately accept as axiomatic that there is no one better than Barto in Weiss. He actually is the greatest living lutenist, but we cannot say it in Wiki, and what I wrote is a half-measure.Galassi 21:34, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Understood. Now that I've had time to think things over, I'll remove my citation tag, if it's still there. Cheers, - Itsfullofstars 23:03, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Most of RB's CD's are in print. You should get a few, so could "get with it" [;-)Galassi 23:15, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My comment on your report on WP:AIV

It's good that you found and reverted the edits...but #1 on the instructions for that page says, "Before listing a vandal here make sure that: The vandal is active now, has received a proper set of warnings, and has vandalized after a recent last warning, except in unusual circumstances."

Active now? Nope. No edits in the last hour.
Received a proper set of warnings? Nope. Never received a last warning.
Vandalized after a recent last warning? Nope. Again, never received a last warning.

It seems like that page has been getting many more reports lately for vandals that don't meet what's been asked for in the instructions. When they need to look into each of them, it slows down the ability for admins to block the people who are actually currently vandalizing. --Onorem 18:17, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

The vandals know how to the game the broken system, and good faith editors who find the vandalisms are running out of patience with the process that bends over backwards in the vandal's favor. Final warning, you say? So what if I typed two uw-vandalism3's instead of one 3 and then a 4. You may be getting more reports like mine because we want to report what we find, when we find it, regardless of these silly, arbitrary short time limits that only serve to make the vandals harder to stop. Fix the system and stop faulting the vandal fixers for trying to save Wikipedia from a slander lawsuit. I think it's time to go on a Wikibreak. Cheers, - Itsfullofstars 18:26, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm not an admin. I want to clear that up after seeing your edit summary when you changed your warnings.
As for the rest...you got your block...so oh well. I don't think it's right, and I don't think multiple warnings should be given all at once. It doesn't make sense for how the system is supposed to function. --Onorem 18:33, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Taking a break

I had a few months of fun of editing here and trying my best to be a contributor to Wikipedia, but I'm tired of dealing with vandals and policies that coddle them. - Itsfullofstars 18:31, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ethnic-group lists deletion discussions

Hi, I noticed you participated in the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of African Americans (3rd nomination) deletion discussion. If you haven't participated in the very similar Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Chinese Americans discussion, which involves essentially the same issues, please do. There's also the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Caucasian Americans (second nomination). I'll asking everyone who participated in one to participate in the others. I apologize for bothering you if you already have participated in more than one. Best wishes, Noroton 04:00, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia talk:Notability (people)#Regarding notability of Football (soccer) players

Hi, seeing you have been involved in previous Afd debates on the subject I invite you to contribute to this discussion to clarify certain issues about football player notability. I think clearer guidelines are needed to avoid repeated inappropriate nominations for deletion and time consuming discussions. Cheers! StephP 20:54, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
