ITRON Project

ITRON project is one of the sub-projects of the TRON Project.

This project aims to standardize the real-time operating system and related specifications for embedded systems (especially small-scale embedded systems). This is an open standard. It is applied in various electronic devices, such as mobile phones and fax machines.

The Realtime Operating Nucleus(TRON) is an Japanese open standard for RTOS. The TRON project was initiated under guidance of Ken Sakamura. There are many flavours of TRON .ITRON is targetted for consumer electronic industry.Various vendors sell their implementations of the RTOS.
