ITN ON

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ITN ON is a division of British news provider ITN. It creates and distributes news content across a wide range of media outlets.

Formerly known as ITN Multimedia, ITN ON came into being in 2003, providing the first video news bulletin for third generation (3G) mobiles for operator 3. It has since expanded its video news service to Vodafone Live!, O2, MobiTV, ROK TV and Orange. ITN ON offers a range of news and entertainment content to broadband operators including Google, Yahoo, MSN and Blinkx. It also supplies content for ITV News and Channel 4 News websites. As well as video, ITN ON supplies text alerts to nearly all UK mobile operators.

ITN ON was the first European company to create made-for-mobile video news content; a mobile-specific 24-hour news channel was launched on MobiTV in May 2005.[1] This was quickly followed by a made-for-mobile weather channel.

Since 2003, the department has grown from 3 staff to 40. ITN ON's radio division IRN supplies news to 300 commercial radio stations throughout the UK with a daily audience of 26 million. IRN is currently producing the Morning Report podcast for Channel 4 Radio in association with Channel 4 News.
