[edit] Armie/Do-Chan
A powerful living battle outfit that a monk gave to Soun Tendo, Genma, and Ranma. It is able to unleash the dormant fighting potential of the wearer. The suit chose Akane, making her stronger and faster, as well as increasing her skill to the point where she was able to defeat Ranma in battle. The suit has only one weak spot: its belt buckle. Ranma attempts to hit that point several times, but fails. Finally, he ends up in a fight with Akane wearing the suit and during this battle the suit's buckle is struck against a statue as Akane falls, destroying it. Kasumi sewed it back together, but Soun called a pawn shop to get rid of it.
[edit] Trivia
- The suit would only let Akane wear it. It rejected all men, and even Ranma's girl form because the its bust was too small.
- Do-Chan is male and has a perverted personality, even stealing Happosai's panty collection for itself.
[edit] The Asura Statue
The Asura statue was one of the first to fall into the springs of Jusenkyo 1200 years ago, thus creating the Spring of Drowned Asura.
[edit] Cursed Bathing Suit
While on a trip to the beach, Ranma and the others were told that an evil sea demon had been pulling young girls to their doom every time they went swimming. After hearing this, Ranma agreed to kill it and dove into the water looking for it. He was soon pulled into the water as well. Luckily, he managed to escape its grasp once he broke a small shrine at the bottom, but he came back to the surface wearing a hideous bathing suit with the image of an ugly dog demon on it. The swimsuit itself was the actual demon drowning the girls. Many years ago it had been abandoned by its owner after her boyfriend, Natsuhiko, told her that the suit was ugly. Ever since then, it had been drowning all women whose boyfriends failed to complement it. After explaining its story, the bathing suit gave Ranma until sundown to find the boyfriend of the original owner and make him go out with her and complement the suit.
Ranma succeeded in finding Natsuhiko, but the suit did not recognize him because he had aged significantly since the initial incident. At that moment, Kuno suddenly arrived at the beach to ask female Ranma out on a date and once the bathing suit saw him, it thought that Kuno was her owner's boyfriend. Ranma asked him to go out with her, he quickly agreed and Ranma suffered tremendous humiliation. Throughout the entire date, however, Kuno refused to complement the suit, although the suit was still happy that it got to have a date Natsuhiko before it went back in the ocean, taking Ranma along with it. Luckily, as the suit began to drag Ranma to a watery grave, Kuno came back and proclaimed how much he loved the suit. Thus the bathing suit disappeared, finally able to rest in peace. Unfortunately, Ranma was left naked in the surf with Kuno groping for dear life.
[edit] Trivia
- The suit seems to be female, and its personality is equally feminine.
- When Natsuhiko was describing the sea demon in the story, he depicted it as giant Inu Daiyokai, it also resembled the dog demon form of Sesshomaru, a character from Rumiko Takahashi's other manga InuYasha.
[edit] Cursed Spatula
An okonomiyaki chef named Occhan had obtained the legendary cursed spatula, it is said that only a true okonomiyaki chef master can wield it, occhan however failed and suffered the curses wrath, afterwards he had called Ukyo for help, she and Ranma came to his restaurant to find the spatula and once they did they tried to make okonomiyaki with it, but do to the curse the spatula had a mind of its own and it shot out blasts of immense heat every time someone tried to use it to make okonomiyaki, and after much conflict with the small spatula they discovered that all the spatula wanted to do was iron laundry.
[edit] Dragon's Whisker
A while after Ranma fell into the cursed spring, he went to a small restaurant where he accidentally ate a special ramen made with the mysterious Dragon's Whisker, which caused any man who ate it to have their hair grow continuosly until they were bald. The owner told him that the only way to stop his hair from growing was to tie his hair into a pigtail and to tie the tip using another Whisker that the owner gave him. The Niku Men sought the Dragon's Whisker so they could cure their baldness, along with Genma and Happosai.
[edit] Fishing Pole of Love
After Ryoga got lost again he comes to a flea market and there a salesman offers him a magical fishing pole of love telling him that whoever is caught with it will automatically fall in love with the user, and Ryoga bought it in hopes of making Akane fall in love with him. The pole has a tiny suction cup on the end, and when it hits someone on the chest it leaves a small, red mark. The mark grows into a small fish-like mark and with each growth the victim falls more in love with the owner of the rod. Ryoga tried to use it on Akane, but he accidentally hit Ranma instead. Afterwards Ranma begins to harbor feelings for Ryoga, at first it seems to be simple friendship but then it develops into pure love, and with each passing moment he becomes more and more obsessed with Ryoga to the point that she develops a powerful jealousy towards Akane.
[edit] Instant Nannichuan
A packet containing powder that can turn any pool of water temporarily into Nannichuan/'Spring of Drown Man'. Shampoo uses this as a bribe to get Ranma to agree to a date with her as he thinks it will cure him. However, the effects of the powder are only temporary.
In the anime only, a second packet of this powder is introduced which is said to have permanent effect, but only once. However, it was mixed up with two other packets and the labels for them got lost. Ranma, Ryoga, and Mousse each get one packet, but ultimately end up fighting over them and the water created from the packet is lost.
[edit] Kinjakan & Gekkaja
The Kinjakan and the Gekkaja are the two most powerful ancient weapons belonging to the Phoenix people.
The Kinjakan is Saffron's main weapon. Its circular tip can be separated from the staff and used as a very powerful boomerang capable of cutting through anything. The halberd also radiates an immense amount of heat, and is capable of dehydrating a human being.
The Gekkaja, used by Ranma to survive against Saffron, is the Kinjakan's sister weapon. It is capable of cutting through even the intense heat of the Kinjakan. The Gekkaja can also release a freezing blast when its tip is bent, and is capable of freezing anything stabbed by it in an instant.
[edit] Red String of Fate
An anime-only magical red string that Shampoo purchases from a traveling merchant. The string is said to make those who are tied to it by the pinky finger fall in love and be linked by fate if they wear it for one day. Shampoo attempts to use this on Ranma, but ultimately is foiled by Akane. It is likely based on the East Asian belief in the red string of fate.
[edit] Scroll of Luck
In the first movie, the Scroll of Luck contains the Seven Lucky Gods Ultimate Technique. It is initially split in two. Kirin has one half, but the other was stolen by Happosai years ago. Exactly how and why he did this is uncertain, because the story that he tells in the movie of his reasons for acquiring it is a fabrication to avoid the other characters’ immediate wrath. Happosai left his half as payment with Lychee’s grandmother for a meal he had at their family restaurant with the promise that a prince would come to claim it. Lychee traveled around for ten years in the hope that this promise would come true, but to no avail. She tracked Happosai down to Japan, where her rage at him and bad timing ended up placing the scroll in Akane’s hands. The Seven Lucky Gods Martial Artists then happen to arrive at the Tendos’ to retrieve the second half of the scroll and its bearer, but why they did not come for Lychee earlier when she had it is not revealed.
By Nekonron’s laws, the bearers of the scroll halves must marry, and joining the two halves of the together constitutes the wedding ceremony, as it is analogous to the union of husband and wife. Akane almost joins her half of the scroll with Kirin’s, but is interrupted. After Lychee gives him the half that she was able to save in the massive geyser that Ranma unleashes, Kirin joins the two halves together after the geyser subsides. The scroll can then be unrolled and read. It is revealed that the Seven Lucky Gods Ultimate Technique is a recipe for “How to Make Too-Too Delicious Seven Lucky Pickled Vegetable,” which the bride and groom are supposed to prepare together as part of the first step in a good marriage. Happosai likely knew what the ultimate technique contained in the scroll was, but lied about what it was when he related how he acquired it.
