Itamar Marcus

Itamar Marcus is counter terrorism analyst and the founder and director of Palestinian Media Watch, which analyzes and documents the Palestinian media the Middle East conflict.

Marcus was also the Director of Research for the Center for Monitoring the Impact of Peace from 1998 - 2000, writing studies on Palestinian, Jordanian, and Syrian school textbooks.

Mr. Marcus was a member of the Israeli delegation to the Tri-lateral American, Israeli and Palestinian Committee to Monitor Incitement, established under the Wye Accords.

Palestinian Media Watch prepared the material for the Israeli delegation that was submitted at these negotiations.

Itamar Marcus is originally from New York, moved to live in an illegal Efrata settlement/colony that was built south of Bethlehem in 1982 on the 1967 Occupied Palestinian land. He physically attacked Prof. Siri Nussauba, the President of Al-Quds University while the later tried to enter a building to give a talk in the US. As a result of the serious criticism and mistakes found in the report on Palestinian school books, Itamar Marcus was expelled or forced to resign as the director of the CMIP.
