Itakpe is a town in central Nigeria, whose main activity is as an iron ore mine, supplying the steel works and river port of Ajaokuta.

Itakpe is served by the first sections of standard gauge railways in Nigeria. However these lines are currently isolated from the main narrow gauge system.
