ITalk

- The correct title of this article is iTalk. The initial letter is shown capitalized due to technical restrictions.
The iTalk is a dictaphone adaptor/mini-speaker made by Griffin Technology for Apple Computer's popular iPod. The iTalk draws power from the remote control port on the iPod, and thus prevents the use of the wired remote, but includes a socket for headphones.

[edit] Features
[edit] Microphone
iTalk has a built-in microphone designed to record crystal-clear audio, and its Automatic Gain Control calculates the best possible signal level for recording. An external microphone can also be connected directly to iTalk for more recording options.
[edit] Speaker
The iTalk's built-in speaker acts as a mini-speaker for the iPod. iTalk can play back recordings through its integrated speaker, or through headphones. It includes a pass-through mini jack so voice recordings can be monitored or music can be listened to without removing the iTalk; this jack also serves as a direct input into the iTalk from another audio source connected to the mini-jack. Recordings can then be downloaded to play back on a computer.
[edit] Compatibility
The iTalk is compatible with iPod Photo, 4th Generation iPod with Click wheel and 3rd Generation iPod with touch wheel and buttons.
[edit] Gone
iTalk has been discontinued.
[edit] Revival
The iTalk line has been revived in December 2006, as a black microphone that attaches to the iPod via the Dock Connector.
