"It Hurts" is a song from Angels and Airwaves album titled We Don't Need to Whisper. A short-film for this song was released on April 18th on the Angels and Airwaves official website, which continues where the video for "The Adventure" left. It will be the second single to be released from We Don't Need to Whisper in Europe. During the time of its first release, it peaked on the UK charts at 59th. It was later re-released and peaked at 28th.

From Kerrang!: A lean guitar riff and heavy drums kick in and stop. As the vocals make their entrance, everything grows towards an emotional chorus that culminates in DeLonge admitting 'it hurts' over and over.

Tom DeLonge: "I have a friend who's got a girlfriend that's the cheating type. It's a terrible situation where my friend is being crushed from the inside out by all the manipulative stuff she's doing and this song's about that."

[edit] Trivia

  • The song is featured in the first half of the trailer for the Angels and Airwaves movie, with the second half playing "Valkyrie Missile."
  • Some fans have considered the fact that the song's intro guitar riff is slightly reminescent of 'What's My Age Again?' by Blink 182.
  • At the end of It Hurts, just before Good Day, you can faintly hear Tom Delonge say, "We Don't Need To Whisper", referencing the album.

Oddly, 'It Hurts' has been held in high regard and has been labeled as the 'Theme Song', meaning the song has been favored the most with calculation gathered from interviews, reviews and polls.
