Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The girls of the Pretty Committee are back from Hollywood and are about to start back to OCD. However, they must join the OCD Sirens soccer team—much to Kristen's dismay, as the girls can't play to save their lives. But even before this, the OCD eighth-grade alpha, Skye Hamilton, sends them a CD, inviting them to hunt for the key to the secret room on campus that will guarantee them alpha status in 8th grade and a spot on the A-list in high school. Usually the key is just given to the most popular girls, but instead, the CD was given to several girls, such as Olivia "Duh-livia" Ryan and Layne's friend Heather. The key is hidden under a Briarwood boy's bed, which Skye describes in a poem. Skye had said she kissed the Briarwood boy too.

Alicia finds the list of Briarwood boys she kissed and delivers all the names to Massie except ONE. Massie finds that Derrington, her boyfriend was one of them so when she goes to his room, she finds out he is a "pig". Alicia finds out that Josh is a "neat freak".

Massie, Alicia, Dylan, Kristen, and Claire hunt for the key, with Massie's nerves being pushed by Claire's constant acting needs, like auditions and meeting with lawyers about movie contracts. She isn't very pleased, of course, when Claire chops her hair off and dyes it black and gives herself a thick unibrow for an audition. When she finds out Claire lied to them so they wouldn't go to Cam's (Claire's boyfriend) house without her, they kick her out of the P.C. However, Claire and Layne figure out that the key is in Chris Abeley's room, and get it, using it to get Claire back in. The story ends with Skye and the DSL Daters unlocking the door to the secret room for the Pretty Committee, who are speechless. They leave you wondering, since Lisi Harrison doesn't describe it. It ends with Skye opening the door, and the P.C. going, "Oh, My, Gawd."
