It's Me or The Dog

It's Me or The Dog is a television program produced by UK television production company Ricochet Productions, in which dog trainer Victoria Stilwell tackles behaviour problems in dogs by teaching their owners responsible dog ownership. Known as much for her natural ability to train any dog as for her vivacious style good looks, Victoria promotes positive reinforcement-based dog training techniques reliant on teaching both owner and dog through positive associations and confidence. The show is currently airing in over 20 countries worldwide.

There have been three UK series of "It's Me or The Dog" so far, the first running for six episodes from 31st August 2005, and earning record ratings for Channel 4. The second series aired from January - March 2006, running for twelve episodes. The third series transmitted in October and November 2006, and was eight episodes long, which included two hour long specials wrapped at each end; "It's Me Or The Dog - The Event" and "It's Me Or The Fat Dog".[1]

Victoria Stilwell has also written two accompanying books, published by Harper Collins and titled It's Me or the Dog: How to Have the Perfect Pet and Fat Dog Slim: How to Have a Healthy, Happy Pet..[2] The first book has also been published in the USA by Hyperion.

A special one hour show at the Crufts Competition was shown on March 13th, and a fourth series is expected in 2007, and anyone wishing to take part in future series can go onto the website of Channel 4.[1]

As of January 27th, 2007, The third(?) series will begin airing in Australia on February 7th.
