It's About Time, released in 2004, is the fourth and latest solo album to date by R&B singer Morris Day. Released 14 years after his previous album Guaranteed, It's About Time is somewhat a return to form for Day. With the exception of four new songs, the album consists of previous hits, recorded live with the modern line-up of The Time. Though the live material is excellent, it was badly edited to remove curse words and fades abruptly between songs, removing most of the audience reactions. This somewhat dampens the intended feel of a live performance and leaves the listening wishing for a full uncut show. The four new songs focus on hip-hop and don't compliment the live material. The resulting album is a patchy collection of tracks and ultimately unsatisfying.
