István Kovács (born August 17, 1970 in Budapest) is a Hungarian boxer. Nicknamed "Ko-Ko", Kovács won the bantamweight gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics and a flyweight bronze medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics. He won the title at the 1996 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Vejle, Denmark.

Kovács began his professional career in 1997, and began his career with 20 consecutive victories, including capturing the vacant WBO featherweight title with a TKO of Antonio Diaz. Kovács lost the belt in his next fight against Julio Pablo Chacon, who dropped him in the 5th and TKO'd him in the 6th. Kovács fought twice more before retiring in 2002.
