Isthmus of Ofqui

Isthmus of Ofqui (46°47′50″S, 74°04′04″W) is a narrow isthmus that connects the Taitao Peninsula with Chiles mainland. The isthmus limits at south with the Gulf of Penas, at north with the San Rafael Lagoon, at west with the Taitao Peninsula and by east with the Northern Patagonia Ice Field.

Geologicaly it is considered the southern end of the Chilean Central Valley, and the Liquiñe-Ofqui Fault.

The Isthmus of Ofqui lies at the triple junction of the Nazca Plate, the South American Plate, and the Antarctic Plate.
