The picture in this article is of 5000 old Shekels banknote, which was replaced by 5 NIS banknote in September 1985. The newer 5 NIS banknote had the same design as the obsolete 5000 Shekels banknote, but when writing about the New Shekel a picture of this banknote is irrelevant. By the way, the 5 NIS banknote has been abolished during the 90ies, and replaced by a coin. Drork 07:27, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

lol, the picture in the article shows a forged coin. notice the dot under the sheild, they where kept in circulation since there where more than a million of them forged. frummer

[edit] Coin table and infobox

The new table for the coins collides with the infobox. --Red Rocky 17:04, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

The reason is that there aren't enough contents above the table. You could add {{-}} above the table, but the there will be a white space above the table. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 00:29, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pronunciation of sheqalim/sh'qalim

Shouldn't the plural be "sh'qalim", rather than "sheqalim", as it is written throughout the article? 81.146.43.101 15:15, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

But it is written as "sheqalim" on banknotes. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 19:40, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 2 Shekels

There isn't such a thing as a 2 Shekels coin. Maybe it existed in the past, but it surely doesn't exist now. TFighterPilot 22:44, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

I can't seem to find one for sale on ebay, but what about this? --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 12:44, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
It didn't exist in the past - it's planned for the future. Ynet got hold of the planned design a few months ago, but the actual coin was not yet released into circulation. -- uriber 17:12, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
