Whatever the correctness of the quote, I think displaying it in three different ways, in two languages (I think), is unaesthetic. I suggest keeping the hebrew & English? Thoughts? Objections? Zenosparadox 05:58, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

I think this image should be removed. It shows the Sinai Peninsula, and has little relevance to the Israeli Navy. A map would be a better choice.

Indeed. The Israeli Navy has no regular operation in the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea, and they are also beyond the territorial waters of israel. Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. 07:14, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

The quote is REALLY wrong. I've been in the navy for over a year and I've never heard it before. If at all it should be: "Yam batuach, hof patuach"(ים בטוח, חוף פתוח, "Secure sea, open beach").

Or maybe: "בים דרכך ושביליך במים רבים ועקבותיך לא נודעו"?

In any case, Deror Avi just reverted my change, called it nonsense and that's it. No comment, no nothing. I have no idea where it came from. Yes, maybe your quote is more correct. I don't know. These blind reverts are not to your credit (it is the sea arm, not branch), as for that passage being the motto, you're hard pressed to prove this:

To the best of my knowledge that is the moto - so it is presented in the Naval Traning Base to all trainees. It is not nesecarly short - why do you think it is: ים פתוח - חוף בטוח? Deror 06:51, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

How is AKA not official? But on closer look, it does not specify if it's used outside of בט"ש units. It dosen't matter, none of the IDF articles I authored have a motto, mainly because I could not really care less about adding these, one way or the other. My main point here though was about the length of the passage —out of which the four-word motto of S-13(?) is dervied of— not being: 1. a motto, 2. it lacking a source indicating that it is the motto for the entire ISC. IMO, this is really irrelevant. Would you put a world map as the top picture in the "US Navy" article???

Everything on that picture label is true (save, perhaps, the part about the gulf of Suez, where Israeli ships have not operated for quite a while now) but I think it's wrong to display it like that. 85.130.160.1 12:35, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
