can i use an image from Wikipedia site in another language for an article here? if so, how? there is one image which i can't find in Commons but is there in an article

No, the image has to be uploaded to Commons first. If I remember correctly, there's a tool that can be used to upload from other Wikimedia sites to Commons, but I can't remember where it is right now (it's not on Wikipedia, its external). --ais523 13:02, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

PyPy and STReP

What's wrong with interwiki (not link!) from STReP to PyPy? Actually PyPy is sponsored by EU in this manner. countryhacker 19:50, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

  • This is mentioned on [1]

Atta ul Rahman

I've unprotected the article, and deleted so you can recreate. the article needs to be adjusted for tone as well as establishing notability. it was full of adjectives saying how wonderful he is, needs to be more neutral, thanks Jimfbleak.talk.07:14, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Now that's a proper article! Is "First Class First Positions" correct, or should there be an "or" in there somewhere? Jimfbleak.talk.14:52, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Re: Redundant categories

While I agree on some redundant categories in Pervez Hoodbhoy, I would disagree on removal of specific categories of 'Nuclear physics' and 'Mathematical physics' as they are two different subjects. Keeping them would be in accordance with Wikipedia:Categorization of people. cheers. --IsleScapeTalk 15:29, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

OK, I put the guy in Category:Nuclear physicists. I'd argue that this is a more narrow category than the two above. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 15:51, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

urgent request

Can you act as a witness to this case with any evidence and statements of your own? Thanks alot.--Nadirali نادرالی

Thanks alot for your reply. There is no definate saying if the case is to proceed or if they will allow you to be my witness to their behaviour. But if the case proceeds and they do allow you to make a statemnt(s) as a witness,I'll really be grateful if you do. Again thanks alot for your reply.Regards.--Nadirali نادرالی

As a neutral observer you are permitted to make a statement here. Please do so.It's extremely important that you do so.You can talk about the disruptive behaviour of some of the Indian nationalist users just to let you know. You don't have to be on our side or anything, but simply speak the truth. That way they'll have more statements from a neutral perspective.Best regards.--Nadirali نادرالی

European Research Networks

A tag has been placed on European Research Networks, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Greenrd (talkcontribs) 18:37, 9 March 2007.

A tag has been placed on European Research Networks, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —Pilotguy (go around) 23:03, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Tim Ingold. See Wikipedia:Copyrights. Copyright violations are unacceptable and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Your original contributions are welcome. SWATJester On Belay! 04:28, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Tim Ingold

The page was already deleted as a copyright violation. As for naivety, well, I would expect one would be able to figure it out on their own, especially since it had a section heading. SWATJester On Belay! 01:24, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

The Tim Ingold page was a direct copyright infringement of an off-wikipedia page. The content of the Tim Ingold article was unquestionably ripped off from another article somewhere else on the internet. This violates Wikipedia's copyright rules regarding the GFDL, thus it was speedy deleted. SWATJester On Belay! 16:54, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
So just remove the copyright warning from your talk page. Simple as that. As for why it didn't show up at WP:CP, there are two ways to redress copyright problems: one is through the copyvio tag and wp:CP, the other way is through the Criteria for Speedy Deletion under CSD#G12.
