Island Park is a village located in Nassau County, New York in the USA. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 4,732.
The Village of Island Park is inside the Town of Hempstead.

Island Park is located at 40°36'11" North, 73°39'25" West (40.602984, -73.657012)GR1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²). 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
The Village of Island Park is bordered on the west by a man-made canal running parallel to Suffolk Road. Its north, east, and southern border is delineated by the rails of the Long Beach Branch of the Long Island Rail Road which separate it from Barnum Island. The Island Park LIRR station provides commuters with a direct link to New York City.

The Island Park Fire Department responds to calls in the Barnum Island and Harbor Isle fire districts.
The Island Park School District has two schools, Francis X. Hegarty Elementary and Lincoln Orens Middle. The school district serves the village of Island Park, as well as the two surrounding hamlets, Barnum Island and Harbor Isle. Students in high school either attend one of the private or catholic schools or the public West Hempstead High School.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 4,732 people, 1,685 households, and 1,199 families residing in the village. The population density was 4,937.9/km² (12,865.7/mi²). There were 1,740 housing units at an average density of 1,815.7/km² (4,730.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 89.05% White, 1.31% African American, 0.36% Native American, 1.08% Asian, 0.13% Pacific Islander, 4.63% from other races, and 3.44% from two or more races. 18.26% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 1,685 households out of which 33.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.3% were married couples living together, 13.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.8% were non-families. 23.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.17.
In the village the population was spread out with 22.7% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 33.6% from 25 to 44, 23.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females there were 90.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.9 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $57,813, and the median income for a family was $63,864. Males had a median income of $42,432 versus $29,593 for females. The per capita income for the village was $22,116. 8.1% of the population and 4.5% of families were below the poverty line. 9.5% of those under the age of 18 and 11.9% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
