Islam in El Salvador

There is a small Islamic community in El Salvador, consisting of Arab, Turkish, and Iranian immigrants. However, the majority of the Arabic population in the country are Christian Palestinians. There is a small mosque in San Salvador, Mezquita la Luz (Mosque of Light), run by 'Centro Islámico Árabe Salvadoreño.
There is also a small Shi'ite community organized in the Islamic Library 'Fatimah Az-Zahra'. They publish the first Islamic magazine in Central America: Revista Biblioteca Islámica.
