Isabel Parra is the daughter of renowned Chilean singer-songwriter Violeta Parra. Together with her brother Angel Parra, Isabel Parra continued the musical tradition of her mother. Isabel cooperated with ensembles of the Nueva Cancion Chilena movement, such as Inti-Illimani (Canto para una Semilla, a song cycle based on words by Violeta Parra, composed by Luis Advis) and Quilapayun (Songs from Chile). The latter recording features compositions by Daniel Viglietti, Eduardo Carrasco (Quilapayun), Luis Advis and by herself, notably the "Lo que mas quiero" a song reminiscent of the Venezuelan Joropo, based on words by Violeta Parra. --05:06, 27 September 2006 (UTC)70.181.73.143
