Isabel Jeans

Isabel Jeans (September 16, 1891 London, England – September 4, 1985 London, England) was a distinguished English stage and film actress.
She was an elegant and courtly character actress who led a long and distinguished stage career. She played a couple of major roles in two Hitchcock silents, Downhill {1927) and Easy Virtue (1928), before playing a number of grande dames in Hollywood films, such as Suspicion (1941) and Gigi (1958).

Her brother Desmond was an actor and boxer, while her sister Ursula became a respected character actress and married the actor Roger Livesey.
Isabel was twice married:
