Isaac Rice

Isaac Leopold Rice (b. February 22, 1850 in Wachenheim, d. November 2, 1915) was an American chess player, chess patron, and chess author. Born in Germany he emigrated in the second half of the 19th century into the USA.

Rice contributed to the foundation of the Electric Boat Corporation (later renamed General Dynamics), in 1899. The Holland Torpedo Boat Company was the (original) company that had switched into The Electric Boat Company on 7 February 1899.
