[edit] Irwin's Affections for Mandy
Irwin is Billy's closest friend (next to Mandy and Grim). He is a nerdy character who longs to gain the admiration and affections of Mandy, who doesn't like him at all. He often aspires to be cool, but he frequently fails in both goals, typically embarrassing himself. In the episode Scythe for Sale he used Grim's scythe to hypnotize her and make her his obedient love slave, which is his closest attempt at winning Mandy so far. This trait was not part of the character at first, as he was originally nothing more than "Billy's friend". Irwin is generally timid and nervous, but can occasionally behave with a cocky attitude. Despite his friendship with Billy, he seems to harbor some subdued hatred or jealousy towards his incompetent friend, due to the attention Billy receives from Mandy, not realizing that Mandy treats both of them with equal disrespect, or that Billy harbors no romantic affection for Mandy whatsoever.
[edit] Family
- Dick, Irwin's father. He is nerdy and has bad gas.
- Melvin, Irwin's older brother. A teenager. Probably dead.
- Grandmama, Dick's mother and Irwin's gangster grandmother.
- Judy, Irwin's mother. A mummy.
- King Poppin' Lokin', Judy's father and Irwin's pharaoh grandfather.
[edit] Irwin, Billy, and Grim
Irwin usually fails at everything, although he beat Billy in a jousting contest in Terror of the Black Knight. Also, in the episode It's Hokey Mon! (a spoof on Pokémon), Irwin and Billy beat two kids in an alley in a Hokemonsters battle. Irwin's good intentions usually backfire: For example, in Duck! he tried to bail Grim out of jail, but did not have enough money. On occasion, his ineptitude can be helpful, as in the Halloween special when he endured so much slapstick-esque pain that the pumpkins exploded from laughter. In Modern Primitives, he gave Mandy, Billy, and Grim a ride (with the help of Grim's scythe) to locate a future-shocked Fred Flintstone. Irwin was inadvertently turned into a werewolf by Grim in Tween Wolf and was adopted by Billy as a pet dog, until Grim used a "were-flea" to cure him.
[edit] Trivia
- Irwin first appeared in the episode Get Out of My Head.

- In the episode He's Not Dead, He's My Mascot, Mandy actually decides to use Irwin as a foot rest.
- In the episode Battle of the Bands Irwin formed a band with Pud'n. Irwin had vocals while Pud'n played piano. Irwin's only verse was "I have no friends." They were quickly booed off the stage.

- In Billy Gets an A, alternate Irwin is a chick magnet.
- Irwin loves Sassy Cat, for which he says his the closest in his heart next to Mandy
- Irwin has been seen with two dogs so far, the first being an unnamed pug in Get Out of My Head! and the other a dachsund named Oscar in the episode Aren't You Chupacabra To See Me?.
- Phil LaMarr voices both Dick, Irwin's father, and Grandmama, his grandmother.
- It used to be a running gag that whenever Irwin's glasses were knocked off, he was always offscreen, preventing the audience from seeing him glasses-less. But in Keeper of the Reaper, that gag came to an end.
- Although Irwin always says "yo," his parents do not allow him to listen to the "hip n' hop" or usually referred to as rap.
- Extending to that, Irwin's parents won't let him listen to anything with a musical beat.
- Irwin has recently appeared in a commercial bumper airing on Cartoon Network that features him dressed like former rap performer MC Hammer, dancing to a music loop similar to the sample of "Super Freak" that Hammer used in his 1990 hit single, "U Can't Touch This".
- Irwin is a playable character in the video game.
- Over the credits of My Fair Mandy, in which reality is warped into that of The Powerpuff Girls, Irwin is seen as Mojo Jojo.
- In Billy & Mandy's Big Boogey Adventure, it is revealed that Irwin's worst nightmare is telling jokes to wild bears.
- In Billy & Mandy's Big Boogey Adventure, Irwin gets his dream partialy come true when he actually kisses Mandy (although she was unconcious at the time, being trapped in a series of nightmares).
- Also in Billy & Mandy's Big Boogey Adventure, Irwin finds out that Mandy's worst nightmare is to be cheerful, obese, and married to him. If this breaks his love for Mandy, it has yet to be seen.
- Irwin's undead grandfather, Poppin' Lokin', speaks with a strong Yiddish accent. At the end of the episode "King Tooten Pooten", he snaps at his grandson: "Boychik, if you don't stop your kvetching, I'm going to give you such a potch on your tuchas!".
