Irving Schleimer (1921--2005) was Dean of the Pacific Coast University School of Law and a strong advocate of diversity in legal education. Dean Schleimer was the son of poor Jewish immigrants. Forced to drop out of school at an early age, he earned a GED in the U.S. Army Air Force and served as a combat-zone meteorologist in the Pacific during World War II. He attended college and law school at night while raising a family, then practiced law in Long Beach, California. After retiring, he was hired as an instructor at PCU and then went on to serve for many years as Dean.
