IRT Jerome Avenue Line
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The IRT Jerome Avenue Line of the New York City Subway, also known as IRT Woodlawn Line, was opened in 1917 as a branch of the IRT Lexington Avenue Line north of 149th Street–Grand Concourse. The Ninth Avenue elevated was extended from the Polo Grounds terminal, entering the Bronx via a now-demolished swing bridge immediately north of the still-extant Macombs Dam Bridge to connect with the Jerome Avenue line in 1918.
The Jerome Avenue Line is served by the IRT Lexington Avenue/East Side 4 train.
