The Iranian presidential election of 1980, the first presidential election in Iran, took place on January 25, 1980, and resulted in the election of Abolhassan Banisadr with 76% of the votes.

The presidential candidates for the 1980 elections were Ahmad Madani, Hassan Habibi, Sadegh Tabatabaee, Dariush Forouhar, Sadegh Ghotbzadeh, Kazem Sami, Mohammad Makri, Hassan Ghafourifard, and Hassan Ayat.
