Iraj Pezeshkzad

Iraj Pezeshkzad born 1928 in Tehran, is an Iranian writer and author of the famous Persian novel "Dai Jan Napoleon"(My Uncle Napoleon) published in the early 1970s.

He started his career as a writer in 1950s by writing short stories for magazines. Aside from his masterpiece, Dai Jan Napoleon, he has also written several other novels and plays including the famous “Mashalah Khan in the Court of Haroun al-Rashid” He has also translated the works of Voltaire and Molière from French into Persian.

Pezeshkzad studied law in France and served as a judge after returning to Iran. Later he was hired by the Iranian foreign service.
