iPlay TV is a digital TV channel which shows The Great Big British Quiz.
The Great Big British Quiz, also referred to as TGBBQ is a phone in participation quiz programme, which broadcasts live everyday between the hours of 4:00pm and 4:00am on Sky Digital channel 840 and ntl channel 634.
A puzzle is shown on screen, along with an amount of prize money and a presenter encorages viewers to call a premium rate number in order to have a chance at solving the puzzle and winning the money. It costs 1 pound to call from a BT landline, regardless of whether a caller gets through to the studio or not. There is also a free web entry available on The Great Big British Quiz website. A jackpot of 1 million pounds is offered everyday.
During the hours that The Great Big British Quiz is not broadcasting, an automated text based game called Win Win TV is shown. To play along with the games, viewers must text answers to an on screen number, which costs 75 pence a text. The prize offered to hi scorers after each game is £2000 in a match the numbers jackpot game called Bonus Ball Bonanza. Each hi-scorer is automatically given a game card on screen. For a person to win the prize, they must match six numbers on their game card, with the drawn balls. Win Win TV is run by The Great Big British Quiz, because for terms & conditions viewers are told to look at The Great Big British Quiz website.
The Great Big British Quiz recently started to broadcast a spin-off programme called Sci Fi Quiz Zone. This is broadcast live everyday, except Friday, usually between the hours of 12:00am and 4:00am, (these times can change due to other programmes) on the Sci Fi channel. The same 1 million pound jackpot is offered, along with similar type quizzes, the only difference is the graphics.
