Ipekekuana

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ipekekuana was a Spanish rock band formed in the summer of 1998 by close friends Ruben and Manuel. After some years trying to form the band, they finally got a premise in their home town of Terrassa in order to rehearse their songs. Ruben was on guitar and vocals while Manuel was on drums. A new member, Miguel, joined the band by that time as the bass player. Though during those days the band was called Y nosotros, ké, the band eventually changed their name into Ipekekuana.

The three members of Ipekekuana began to rehearse all through August 1998. They played songs written by themselves, with titles like "El mañana", "Pitágoras", "Tú", "Laura" or "Doctor doctor". However, after the summer ended, Miguel decided to quit. Manuel, who had been on drums, changed to guitar and vocals while Rubén went on as guitarist and vocalist.

The new member on drums was Karlitos. With that line up the band went on rehearsing and producing new material with titles like "Despierta", "Obsesión", "Yo (fiesta & alcohol)" or "Días de escuela". In January 2001 the band split, after the premise in which they used to rehearse was closed.
