[edit] Termini
The south terminus is at an interchange with Interstate 29 and 80 in the southern part of Council Bluffs. The north terminus is at an interchange with Interstate 29 in the northern part of Council Bluffs.
[edit] Route Description
Iowa 192 goes north on the South Expressway from Interstates 29 and 80 and after crossing a bridge which crosses over several railroad tracks, splits into a two way pair of one way streets. Northbound 192 is 6th Street and southbound 192 is 7th Street. When 192 meets U.S. Route 6, which runs on Broadway and Kanesville Road through Council Bluffs, it turns west with US 6 until it meets 16th Street. It then turns north and goes north until it merges into northbound Interstate 29. The segment it shares with US 6 and the 16th Street segment are both 4 lane divided highways.
There is no direct access from the north terminus of Highway 192 to southbound I-29. Also, if one is driving south on I-29 and wishes to exit onto Highway 192, one must make a left exit.
