Iota Crucis

ι Crucis (ι Cru / Iota Crucis) is a star in the constellation Crux. It has an apparent magnitude of 4.69^m. The star is classified as an orange giant (spectral class K1 III). ι Crucis is located at 125 light-years from the Sun.

There is a nearby 10.3^m class G8 star, but the highly different proper motion reveals it to be a mere line-of-sight optical companion.
