Iona is a city in Bonneville County, Idaho, United States. The population was 1,201 at the 2000 census.

Iona is located at 43°31′35″N, 111°55′43″W (43.526319, -111.928478)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.0 km² (0.8 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 1,201 people, 372 households, and 318 families residing in the city. The population density was 587.0/km² (1,526.0/mi²). There were 385 housing units at an average density of 188.2/km² (489.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.42% White, 0.08% African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 0.83% from other races, and 0.42% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.91% of the population.

There were 372 households out of which 44.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 76.3% were married couples living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.5% were non-families. 12.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.23 and the average family size was 3.55.

In the city the population was spread out with 35.6% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 11.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 100.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.5 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $39,904, and the median income for a family was $42,692. Males had a median income of $32,105 versus $21,818 for females. The per capita income for the city was $14,334. 17.6% of the population and 14.0% of families were below the poverty line. 111.6% of those under the age of 118 and 16.1% of those 165 and older are living below the poverty line.
