[edit] "Cancellisation"
The show was never cancelled. Like many shows, it had a holiday break. -- Scjessey 21:05, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
The show was NEVER cancelled, officially or otherwise. Please stop adding this inaccurate information. If you believe otherwise, place the information on this talk page and provide sources, so that it might be properly discussed. Also, speculative information ("some viewers believe") is inappropriate. -- Scjessey 04:10, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
Does ABC thinking about cancelling this show because of falling ratings?
I added a new columm about Invasion's decline after the first episode. Keep checking the ratings everyweek on newspapers to check how many million viewers are watching this show.
- Out of curiosity of its status and not being American, is there any online site where these statistics can be found? -- Jugalator 15:16, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- Here is one such site. Google neilson ratings for more. 71.199.123.24 20:42, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks! :-)

Changed the final episode from March to May 24, depending on ABC if they officially cancelled the show. But if they were able to renew for second season, then it will be changed back from May 24 to present.BigBang11 09:27 PST, February 21, 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Plot
Can anyone add the freaking plotline of Invasion to this article? I could care less about the ratings or why it was cancelled, I want to actually know in somewhat depth of what the hell this show was about.
[edit] The Idea of Dropping the Show
To be completely honest, although the show is good, it's by no means in the league of 'Lost', and the continual irregular airing of the shows is likely to add to the viewer's dispondancy. I can now 'give or take' it, especially when the storyline seems to be dragging itself out.
- I think Lost drags itself out far more than Invasion does. Lost is better because it was a properly-planned, well thought out series - Invasion was rather rushed in an attempt to cash in on the sudden resurgence of the Sci-Fi genre, but it has developed into a reasonably decent show. The continuous mucking about with the schedule is doing more harm than anything else. I like that Invasion is darker than things like Surface - much more in the vein of American Gothic than Threshold. -- Scjessey 17:59, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
I hope the show isn't dropped, I have watched all the episodes to air so far in the UK and despite a brief spell about 5-6 episodes in where it became very slow its really improved lately.
I hope They Don't Drop The Show I Love It Is Far Less Solw IN Its Story Lines Unlike Lost Which Is The Biggiset Load Of Rubbish On abc At The Moment
[edit] Dubious claim
I removed this sentence:
- Since the events of Hurricane Katrina did not affect the advertisement campaign in the UK it has been able to receive a cult status similar to that of Lost.
I consider it highly unlikely that this alleged "cult status" is due to advertizing. Burschik 13:14, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- A good move. ×Meegs 13:21, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Really Cancelled?
Are you sure it's cancelled and not just... very posponed? I mean, it was left of at a major cliffhanger with many unclosed plot points and was referred by ABC as the 'season finale' rather than the 'series finale'. - Joshua368 16:55, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] ABC Ruined INVASION
ABC is responsible for wrecking this show by constantly taking it off the air. I have never seen a network ruin a show in this way, taking it on and off to the point where it was hard to follow what was going on, reducing viewer interest on purpose and generally screwing it up to the point where they could justify canceling it.
They could have started it in a far better time slot where it would have had a chance to succeed. I think they wanted to kill it from the start, as soon as they realized Hurricane Katrina could very well cause some sensitivity. They could have started it later in the season or even next year and given it a decent chance to succeed.
Look what they did to LOST! Every time I turned it on, it seemed like I was watching some old episode from who knows when. I finally gave up making time to watch it - got tired of being disappointed.
I'm not going to bother watching ABC shows next season. I'm not interested in watching things that go on and off the air and run old episodes in the middle of new ones at their whim. They did it with two good shows this year - wonder how many they'll do it with next year?? (As many as they can get away with!) 4.234.33.216 23:33, 20 May 2006 (UTC) Kelliann
[edit] INVASION fans hope for return to network television

There is unverified news of a possible pick-up of the show by Sci-Fi channel: http://www.invasion-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1244
From the thread:
"I just had the owner of one of the Yahoo groups I belong to send me the following information (the group is Shaun_Cassidy_Invasion)
1st message:
I don't know if you have seen the Sci-fi channel on cable. But they have been showing promos of the show over there. I don't know if that means they will pick it up. But we can only hope. All the promo says that Invasion coming soon watch for it. Tracy
2nd message:
Ok I spoke with the Sci-fi channel people. And they said that yes Invasion is coming to their channel this summer. But it is not the new ones. It is only the repeats right now. They want to see how it goes. And then they will see if they will pick up the series or not. I told them that the show has alot of followers. And that they are all very upset that ABC pulled the plug on it. And I told them about the petition for ABC. The number of people who signed it so far are about 10,000. Then said they will talk to the head people and tell them about that. So maybe when the petition gets full enough we should send it to the sci-fi channel too. So we will see. Tracy"
Go see for yourself. I am reluctant to give this info more than 'rumor' status.
This is not yet front page stuff.
[edit] Petition
- A few thousand signatures on an online petition isn't going to make any difference. Remember that it was cancelled because it lost about half of the Lost viewing audience. The petition would need to attract millions of signatures just to get noticed. -- Scjessey 10:43, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Family tree
Would someone mind remaking the family tree using the Familytree template? --DrBat 18:44, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
- Done. I had to use solid lines for active marriages, against convention, so that I could use dotted lines for the two dissolved ones. ×Meegs 20:54, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
what the hell is that 'character family tree' all about? --81.230.230.127 16:50, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
If you watched the show you'd know. All the main characters are connected in a big extended family that is sometimes hard to keep track of, so the tree is useful. 67.165.96.26 00:54, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
-
- I was thinking if it would be ok to put thumbnails to the family tree... The problem is that not all the actors have their photo in wikipedia (actually only 3 of them do have a suitable photo), and I'm not exactly experienced in obtaining images for wikipedia, I'm scared to break some copyright etc... Anyway it would look like this. Ideas? --Tartaros 22:07, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
