From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Invercargill electorate is a seat in the Parliament of New Zealand, representing the area of Invercargill city.
[edit] History
The seat was established in 1866 when it separated from the Wallace Electorate.
In 1996 a boundary redistribution resulted in the abolition of the Awarua seat and merged in to the Invercargill electorate following re-drawing of boundaries due to the introduction of Mixed Member Proportional (MMP).
