[edit] Group vs Gumi
Should the word "group" be replaced with the word Japanese word "gumi", ala Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X? --Karmafist 09:00, 20 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- I don't think that would be a good idea. In the past, such references in InuYasha articles have been changed, and now most of the pages use the word 'group' because it is easier for English speakers to understand. (For an example of this kind of use, see Template:InuyashaCharacter.) Josh 00:47, Jan 21, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Characters with articles
For the characters that have articles, could we just say... "See here: link"? -- EmperorBMA|話す 23:27, 20 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- Yep, but 90% of them doesn't have articles, so why make exceptions and just add a link to only 10%? Of course, since this article is only for youkai synopsis, we could add a link to every youkai, and the article for them would eventually appear... I just don't fell like adding them now :P You can do it if you want, I would like it, just do disambiguation for some names... P.S.: Just don't delete the text that I already did.
- Some just don't have enough info to make an article worthwhile. Most would be very bad stubs not worth a separate article. -- EmperorBMA|話す 00:14, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)
- You see? Let's just leave it as is. If people really want to know more about X youkai, they use the search bar, or check the IY main page.

And you must have already noticed my english sucks :P Thanks for all the corrections you are doing on my articles.
[edit] Housenki's death
BTW when did Housenki die, both manga and anime have him alive after InuYasha left... -- EmperorBMA|話す
- I'm sure he died, just after Inu used kongousouha he said that, if he used that technique to make himself stronger only, he would have been killed by the diamond powder covering him. Just after saying that, his head cut in half and he died.
- But he also continues to speak to InuYasha after the battle, saying "You must go now or else the portal will close" or something similar... -- EmperorBMA|話す 19:18, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Macronization 'ou'
Hi! I've done a partial "macronizing" of this content. But I can't tell if all of the "ou"s need to have macrons or not. WhisperToMe 17:26, 4 Aug 2004 (UTC)
[edit] InuTaisho
Inutaisho is NOT Inuyasha and Sesshōmaru's father...That's not his name, it seems to be rumor or speculation at best (as it was never said, not even in the movie), and seems to be more of a title if anything. I've gone ahead and removed it (as well as making a few other changes). Sorry if I sound frustrated, it's like the 3rd page I've had to remove it from (at least ya'll spelled Tessaiga right). [edit] Category:Yōkai in InuYasha?
Any objections to making this category? We can still keep the article, I'll put it in there too at the top, but I thought having a category would be good too, since there are so many. I've been putting them under Category:Demons so far, which I realize isn't distinctive enough. I can put this new category under both Category:InuYasha and Category:Yōkai which I plan to create for the article which is under Japanese myths. Tyciol 19:25, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Kaou the flower master
I found this and didn't think that a minor villian needed its own article. I have inserted the first paragraph and here is the rest of the article:
During their battle, Kaou claimed these were the group's sorrows:
Sango: the whereabouts of Kohaku
Miroku: his wind tunnel poisoning himself
Inuyasha: He lost the person he loved the most (Kikyo). This particular one got Kagome very upset, especially after Kaou announced that Inuyasha actually wanted to die to be with Kikyo. Kagome was immune since she had a special pendent. Shippo was just completely carefree and had no sorrow.
Kaou was able to capture Inuyasha and start feeding off him. In doing so, Inuyasha saw an image of Kikyo. Kagome was able to snap Inuyasha out of it and saved him. Kaou then relised that Kagome has sorrow that he didn't sense before. He never got a chance to say what it was. Inuyasha killed Kaou before he had a chance.
Afterwords, Kagome questioned Inuyasha about what Kaou said. Inuyasha avoid the questions. Kagome told Inuyasha that he didn't need to bear his sorrow alone. Inuyasha became more at ease once realizing he was not the only one upset over Kikyo's death. The arc ended with a look into Kagome's thoughts. She stated that they are all upset; however, she also states that Inuyasha is still the one who is hurt the most.

[edit] Why is Kagura treacherous?
To IANS: You said "Naraku never threatened Kagura's life, he said he controls her since she was made of him.". I remember that Kagura went out on her own (without instructions or permission) to try to get Koga's jewel shards while Naraku was re-assembling himself. When she returned, Kanna led her to Naraku who was in a basement. Naraku used one of his tentacles to grab Kagura around her neck and pull her up to his face. He asked her if she wanted to be re-absorbed into his body. She indicated No. Then he said she should not act without his permission again. She agreed (with secret reservations). Then she started plotting to kill him so that she could be free. JRSpriggs 08:01, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
I meant Naraku did not exactly threaten her after she was angry over being hit by Inu-Yasha's Kaze no Kizu -- I wrote about that in the same sentence or paragraph, but I suppose I was not specific enough. Many fans seem to get the impression that Naraku threatens Kagura almost every time they talk to eachother, but he merely does so ( usually mildly ) when she " misbehaves ". But I agree that he nearly killed her that time ( when she acted alone ) and also punished her in the manga.
As for " Why is Kagura treacherous ", she betrays practically everyone who she comes into contact with -- whether or not she dislikes them. Let me count some / all of her known betrayals ( from the manga ):
1. She betrayed Naraku, the one who gave her life, because he used her in order to test Inu-Yasha's attack and to steal Kouga's shards. Caring for one's own life is not a bad thing, but Kagura tends to overract when it comes to her life, in my opinion ( she later discovered that she was IMMORTAL as long as her heart was not destroyed, and Naraku obviously knew this as well ). Naraku knew of some of Kagura's betrayals, but was merciful enough to spare her life at least twice,( for the purpose of using her further, but it was still mercy to some degree, in my opinion ) . However, Kagura was bent on having him killed so she could be free.
2. She constantly used the lives of Inu-Yasha's group and Sesshoumaru in order to be freed. Even though Kagura apparently had some type of feelings for Sesshoumaru, she still endangered his life many times, and she even pretty much knew he would die while attempting to open the gate the led to the afterlife. However, she was willing to gamble it...
3. Kagura and Kohaku were somewhat allies, because they were in the same situation. However, Kagura was putting on a slight front, because in the manga, she thought to herself, " I will use you a little longer, because you better work hard for my sake! " -- this was in the manga-equivalent of episode 165.
4. She betrayed Naraku a final time when she allowed Gouryoumaru to escape from the prison. Gouryoumaru / Mouryoumaru asked Kagura to steal Kohaku's shard so he could become more powerful ( he was supposedly " teamed " with Kagura and would " protect " her ) and Kagura agreed. Even though they were somewhat allies, Kagura attacked Kohaku in order to kill him and steal his shard. After Kohaku convinced Kagura that if she obeyed Mouryoumaru, she would be bound to him just as she is to Naraku, she would never be free -- she would always be a slave, so Kagura then betrayed Mouryoumaru by allowing Kohaku to escape. Shortly afterward, Hakudoushi asked Kagura to join him, since they both turned out to be traitors, ( Hakudoushi was the one who told encouraged Kagura to allow Gouryoumaru to escape, so they were working together, a bit ) but Kagura refused / betrayed him as well.
I may have left out some, but this is proof that Kagura betrays practically everyone. However, she is / was in a desperate situation, so some is understandable. Still, she should not be trusted. This is not an attack on her character; I merely feel it is extremely rare when I see anything about Kagura that is unbiased, ( whether it be articles, or profiles / stories, etc. ) so I tell both sides of the story, rather than simply her despair...

[edit] Why does Naraku taint the Jewel of the Four Souls?
IANS said "Tainting the jewel is part of the process of completing it, so it is pointless to mention both.". I am not aware of any evidence that tainting is necessary to completion. It was complete before it was shattered, but pure. In any case, it is not pointless to mention that Naraku seeks to taint it. I think that his motive is merely a desire to maximize the evil of the jewel because he likes evil period. JRSpriggs 11:49, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

could you please be more specific as to which part supports your position? JRSpriggs 11:49, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
In the manga at least, Naraku had stated that he desires the Shikon no Tama in order to become a full-Youkai, just as Inu-Yasha did before he fell in love with Kikyou and Kagome. Every time Naraku collects a shard, he taints it, and probably for the purpose of making certain that he will become the ultimate Youkai -- similar to how Kikyou was purifying it, then said that after she changes Inu-Yasha into a human, the jewel will ultimately be purified and cease to exist. Although youkai are not evil by nature, there always seems to be some type of " taint " about them ( even with non-evil Youkai such as Shippou and Kirara, like when the barrier of Hakurei-Zan affected them ) and it also seems that most humans usually have some type of " purity " or " neutral " to them, even though humans are not good by nature. Of course, Inu-Yasha may portray youkai differently than Japanese mythology and such.
Anyway, unless Takahashi changes Naraku's motive, I truly believe that he wishes to become a full-Youkai, since he said so himself, and Kikyou said so as well. And as for that Website, it has scripts of all Inu-Yasha manga chapters, and that is where I get most of my information from ( I never use the anime-information, because it tends to be vague or altered ).
Peace.--IANS 14:11, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
