Inuvil

Inuvil is a small village in Northern SriLanka (Eelam in Tamil). It is situated along the KKS main road, in Jaffna district. Majority of the villagers speak tamil as their mother toungue. Inuvil is significant from a southIndian Tamil village, because the villagers use the "Jaffna Tamil dialect" which differs slightly from SouthIndian Tamil dialect. The language is a mixture of modern Tamil and few malayalam language words which is spoken in the SouthIndian states of Tamilnadu and Kerala(Cheranadu).

Most of the villagers are farmers and from vellala race. Brahmins (Iyyers) also live near temples.

Hinduism is practized by the majority. Lord Ghanpathi, Lord Murugan, Goddes Amman are the most worshipped hindu gods. Christian missioneris are also found in the village.

Pararasasekara Pillayar temple, Kovilvasal Murugan temple(also known as Periya Kovil), Sivakami Amman temple, Sekarasekara Pillayar temple, Anganeyar temple, Manjaththadi Murugan temple are some of the Hindu temples in the village.

The Inuvil central College,The Inuvil Hindu College, Saiva Mahajana, The American missionery College are some of the schools of the area. The "Ramanathan college of traditional arts" is situated in Inuvil near Maruthanarmadam. Hindu traditinal arts are being taught here. There are few Computer Eduction centers too.
