Talk:International Master

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I removed this text. It does not properly belong in this article, although it may be true; it could more properly be placed in an article about young chess prodigies.

I have included the text here in case people strongly disagree and desire to replace it in the article.

"India's youngest international master is Abhijeet Gupta (born 1989), who was officially awarded the title in August 2005." Transcendentalstate 20:56, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Fundamentally there is nothing wrong with mentioning young players, though would be a better idea to pick a more extreme example. Just like we have mentioned three people who did not become an IM on the way to becoming a GM. These are all related and interesting facts to do with being an IM.
