[edit] This organization is still in operation

The March 2006 revision to this article says that the International Institute of Islamic Thought "was shut down by the FBI in 2002" and changed all the verbs in the article to past tense. Although there was a March 2002 raid of the organization's offices in Herdon, VA, I have not been able to find any further reporting on the results of that raid. That the organization is still in existence is confirmed by the fact that the links at the bottom of the article are still working, e.g. http://www.iiit.org/

Unless someone has information to the contrary, I suggest that the article be reverted to its 11 November 2005 version and the information about the raid having taken place be added to that page

In the absence of any objections, I went ahead and made the changes suggested above today. (Catawba 20:10, 4 June 2006 (UTC))

[edit] 16 Sep reversion by user EFG

EFG: If you have new information to support your 16 Sep 2006 alleged "vandalism reversion" well and good. Let's see it. Otherwise, your change makes this article factually incorrect and should itself be reverted. Whether we like it or not, the International Institute of Islamic Thought is still in operation. To verify this, click on its external link at the bottom of the main article. You can also google the phrase "Islamic Herndon, VA", click on Maps and see exactly where it is. If that's not enough to convince you, call the listed phone number and ask them yourself. (If you don't want them to see your phone number, dial *67 before placing the call.) No. You have to provide a source supporting your assertion. You were the one who originally altered the content so the burden is on you. Saying that the website is still in operation does not prove that it still exists. I suggest you try and find a recent news article or activity the organization was involved in. Thanks for providing the source. I will remove the unsourced, and clearly incorrect assertion that the organization no longer exists. In the future, please provide sources to support your edits. Thanks, EFG 20:49, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
You're welcome. The problem was that KI's 26 March 2006 claim that IIIT had been shut down was itself unsubstantiated. That's why I raised the issue in the discussion section back in May and waited a few weeks before editing the main article. Catawba 21:10, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
