[edit] History
After the smash album Cuts Both Ways and the tragic accident that happened to Gloria at her tour, she decided to get back with a brand-new concept album, who includes a lot of Pop, Soft-Pop, Rock and Dance songs, but was a very different album in comparison to her past album, and the music much in the style of the 80’s pop.
The theme of the album is bouncing back from the darkness of tragedy, hence the album's title.
The album received a favorable welcoming not only talking about the commercial success, but in the charts and the professional reviews. The album has sold more than 3 million copies to date and gave Estefan a lot of hits such as the U.S. number one, "Coming Out of the Dark"
The singles of the albums were more of the soft songs of the album, including the leading single and theme song, "Coming Out of the Dark" who became at Gloria’s third number one at U.S., the song was inspired in the fatal accident and all the support that Gloria’s husband, Emilio Estefan gave to her in every time. Also Gloria has released the Spanish version of the song at U.S. and reached the Top 5 of the Latin Tracks. The second single was "Seal our Fate" who was more Rock-oriented song, and became a Top 40 at UK. Then, the third single was "Can’t Forget You" who was very soft and more a ballad than a dance single, the single doesn’t received favorable positions at the Billboard Hot 100 but almost reached the top at the Adult Contemporary charts, reaching the number two, this single was released only at U.S. and Canada as a single, on Europe was "Nayib´s Song (I Am Here for You)" and on UK, the Top 40 "Remember me with Love". The Following and last single was "Live for Loving You" probably the less nostalgic single of all, the song became a Top 40 at U.S. and like tha past single reached the number two at the Adult Contemporary, but also reached the Dance sales chart.
Like the past albums, Jon Secada and Soul-singer, Betty Wright, were formed part of the background vocals, but this time Secada, helped Gloria to wrote a lot of songs for the song, including the number one single, "Coming Out of the Dark". For make the promotion to the album, Gloria kick-off the "Into the Light World Tour" that was covered 100 cities in nine countries and was seen by more than 10 million people worldwide, also Gloria made her first appearance at the American Music Award singing "Coming Out of the Dark", receiving a big standing-ovation.
