"Into the Fire" (Part 2 of 2) is the Season 3 premiere episode of the science fiction television series Stargate SG-1.

[edit] Plot

Colonel Makepeace returns to inform Hammond that the Tok'ra have found SG-1. Hammond sends SGs 3,5 and 11 to find them.

In the mock-up SGC, Hathor ponders which member of SG-1 which one should be a new host. The mature symbiote chooses Jack, but before she could implant the symbiote, Jack attacks and is zatted by a lesser female Goa'uld. In the stasis chamber, Hathor implants the symbiote and tells O'Neill that once it takes control, he'll swear loyalty to her. Suddenly, gunfire is heard and the Jaffa head to find the source. The female Goa'uld reveals herself as a Tok'ra and puts Jack in stasis to kill the symbiote. Hathor finds out and uses her hand device to throw the Tok'ra against the wall.

Makepeace and his men free Carter and Daniel. The men at the Stargate are ambushed so they head to the gate. When they get there, the gate is guarded by Jaffa, energy shields and staff cannon towers. They are forced to retreat to the Tok'ra tunnels which the Tok'ra spy used to enter and exit the compound unseen. They attempt to re-enter the base, but run into another energy shield. Hammond contacts them and scans the area with the MALP, but it is zatted. Carter proposes going back to the fake SGC to shut down the power generator.

On Chulak, Teal'c finds Bra'tac left for dead. After helping Bra'tac, he summons nearby Jaffa together to speak with them. He announces to the Jaffa that the Goa'uld are false gods. Only a few Jaffa join him and Bra'tac, but it is revealed that Hammond has tagged along. Bra'tac leads them to a Death Glider hidden nearby many years ago.

Makepeace, Daniel, and everyone else still hiding in the Tok'ra tunnels are captured by the Jaffa. In the Goa'uld compound, Carter finds the female Tok'ra and revives O'Neill, but is attacked by Hathor. O'Neill manages to throw Hathor into the stasis chamber unprotected, which kills her. The female Tok'ra tells them where the power generator for the shield is. They arrive in the fake gate room and Jack flips a switch, revealing the generator.

At the gate, O'Neill confronts the Jaffa, first pretending to be a Goa'uld, then telling them that Hathor is dead. They refuse to believe him. Sam blows the generator at the last minute. Suddenly, the gate activates and a Death Glider (flown by Teal'c and Hammond), Bra'tac and rebel Jaffa came through. Once all of Hathor's Jaffa were taken care of, SG-1 returns home.
