[edit] Notes

  • On April 8, 2006, Denver Nuggets rookie and former NC State basketball star Julius Hodge was shot and lightly wounded on this road when another car pulled along side his and opened fire around 2 o'clock in the morning.
  • I-76 was redesignated from I-80S in 1975, in accordance with AASHTO policy to remove the letter suffixes from Interstate Highway System routes.
  • I-76 in Nebraska is signed north-south; in Colorado, it is signed east-west.
  • The western terminus of I-76 used to be at I-25; the western extension to I-70 was built in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
