Interstate 370 (abbreviated I-370) is a 3.13 mile Interstate highway spur route off Interstate 270 in Gaithersburg, Maryland to a park and ride lot at the Shady Grove station on the Red Line of the Washington Metro. Despite the number x70, I-370 does not connect to I-70 itself.

[edit] Route description
The route is a four-lane freeway that begins at the eastern terminus of the Sam Eig Highway, at its intersection with Washingtonian Blvd. The route continues east and intersects I-270 almost immediately. Beyond I-270 the road continues east and interchanges with Maryland Route 355 before curving sharply south to the station.
The I-370 designation officially ends outside the station environs, but the physical roadway runs in a full loop through the station parking lot.
[edit] Future work
There are plans to create an Intercounty Connector highway, to be designated Maryland Route 200, that would run from I-370 east to Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 1 in Laurel.

[edit] Trivia
Although I-370 does not directly connect with I-70, it is associated with it through I-270. It is one of only two tertiary Interstate spurs in Maryland; Interstate 795, which connects to I-95 via I-695, is the other.
