International School of Paris

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International School of Paris, usually abbreviated to ISP, was founded in 1964. At the time it housed six students and two staff members in one classroom. Today, only 42 years later, the school has facilities for 625 students and 85 staff members in four buildings.

[edit] Background

The school is a non-profit, independent and co-educational establishment. It is a fully accredited member of the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Independent Schools (ISP was the fourth school worldwide to be jointly accredited by these organisations in 1981). It is also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and the European Council of International Schools.

The school is an International Baccalaureate World School with fully authorized curricular programs at all levels. The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programs reflect our international character. The courses, like many offered by other international schools, are structured both to foster the quick integration of the students into the new environment and to facilitate re-entry when they return to their national systems. We are fortunate in being able to profit from our unique location by making use of Paris and its surroundings as a vital educational resource.

The school provides access to universities and colleges around the world through its International Baccalaureate program and High School Diploma.

[edit] Location

It is located in the prestigious XVIe arrondissement. Grades 4 - 12 are just a short walk from the Eiffel Tower. Nursery - Grade 3 are near the Ranelagh gardens.
