International Primary School of Zurich

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International Primary School of Zurich existed until 2001 when it merged with the American International School of Zurich to create the Zurich International School.

IPSZ provided a warm, friendly, creative and nurturing environment where children could grow both socially and academically. Classes were offered in the English-language from Pre-School (age 3) through Grade 6 (age 12), with a maximum of 20 students per class. It served over 300 students representing 33 nationalities. The curriculum was based upon the Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organisation. Special programmes in English as a Second Language (ESL) were offered to non-native speakers to assimilate them as quickly and as smoothly as possible into the classroom learning environment. The school's active Parents' Club sponsored social activities for families and reaches out to newcomers to welcome them into the IPSZ community.
