International Policy Statement

The International Policy Statement of Canada is a document outlining Canada's role in world politics. The current version was tabled on April 19, 2005 and is Canada's formal international policy. The topics covered by the IPS are: Diplomacy, Development, Defence, and International Commerce. The document includes multilateral efforts, especially with the rising global powers of India, China, Brazil and Japan. It also involves the combat of transnational threats like terrorism.
