International Philosophy Olympiad

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International Philosophy Olympiad (IPO) is an international philosophy competition for high school students organized by the FISP (Fédération Internationale des Sociétés de Philosophie) and supported by the UNESCO.

The students write during four hours a philosophical essay on one of four topics. The language may be English, French or German, but it cannot be the mother tongue or an official language of the country from which the student is from.

The IPO has been founded in 1993 thanks to the initiative of philosophy teachers from Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Turkey and Germany.
