International Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology (ICSPP) is a nonprofit research and educational network whose focus is the critical study of the mental health professions and their consumer markets. ICSPP was originally founded in 1971 by psychiatrist Peter Breggin and publishes the scholarly journal, Ethical Human Sciences and Services.[1]

ICSPP is concerned with the impact of mental health theories on public policy. Specifically, ICSPP has focused on delivering warnings about the potential dangers of psychiatric drugs, ECT and psychosurgery.

ICSPP has hundreds of researchers, psychiatrists, neurologists, psychologists, social workers, attorneys, professors and teachers in their membership list. Some of them have been pivotal in FDA changes, media releases and establishing treatment centers.
