International Center for Research on Women

The International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) was founded in 1976 and works with international organizations and world governments to promote gender equitable development. They are headquartered in Washington, D.C., United States and have an office in New Delhi, India.
Its mission statement is:

ICRW accomplishes this, in partnership with others, through research, capacity building and advocacy on issues affecting women's economic, health and social status in low- and middle-income countries. |

Areas where ICRW is particularly active is in empowering women to acquire land and housing rights, HIV and AIDS prevention, eliminating violence and stigma towards women, educating women, combatting child marriage and reducing malnutrition.
