International Black Sea University

The International Black Sea University (IBSU) is an university established on 1995 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Its mission statement mentions the goal of improvement of current educational cooperation between the Georgia and the Republic of Turkey. It accepts prospective students from Turkey according to the Turkish Öğrenci Seçme Sınavı(ÖSS) held by the Öğrenci Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi (ÖSYM). This somewhat bureaucratic central student's achievement test is a mandatory precondition to university level education in Turkey which determines not only the university but also the subjects a student may choose to study.

It has 5 faculties and 6 departments and a scientific library.

The founders of the university are, besides the Ministry of Education of Georgia and the Governorship of Dusheti, the Turkish firms Mars and Çağlar.

International Black Sea University(IBSU) Founded in 1995, IBSU is a University that has the objective of training Georgian and foreign students in scientific, technical and professional fields of study, and of utilizing these studies in the field of pure and applied research for contributing to the economic and social necessities of Georgia and other developing countries. Since its inception the language of instruction has been English.

International Black Sea University is located in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia.

Georgia is a small patch of land to the south of the Greater Caucasus Range. It occupies the isthmus between the Black and Caspian Seas. Georgia is bordered from the north by Russia, from the east by Azerbaijan and from the south by Turkey and Armenia.

The population of the country is 5 million. People call themselves Kartveli and their country Sakartvelo, i.e. the Georgian's place.

IBSU was opened by the President of Georgia and the Prime Minister of Turkey in accordance with the decree of the Council of Ministers and the License of Opening given by the Ministry of Education of Georgia in 1995.

Tbilisi has a lot of educational foundations and institutes with its language of instruction and educational programs. There are many libraries and research centers provided by local institutes and foreign organizations, where students can get any information and the latest issues about Georgia and other countries.

Since IBSU is located in Tbilisi with such research opportunities, we hope that learning, reading and research facilities will be satisfactory for students. Beside IBSU's Library and Audio-Video Center.

The aim of a faculty member of an outstanding university is to provide quality teaching and to aid students in the pursuit of truth. In order to teach effectively, a faculty member must keep up with the latest findings in his field and create knowledge through research and experimentation.

The faculty of IBSU is constantly conducting investigations of all types into various fields so that it may teach, discover and learn. In order to provide the students with the benefits of these pursuits, close contact between the student and teacher is maintained through small classes and discussions.

The Health Services are provided seven days a week for help with any health-related query. Medical staff are always ready to give advice and information on a variety of health and health-related issues.

Our professional staff are experienced in assisting students to deal with various educational, social, and personal issues.

In IBSU, there is an atmosphere created by enthusiastic and friendly relations, and activities of serious and vivacious clubs such as theatre, music, chess, football, volleyball, basketball, athleticism, table tennis and so on. Among the facilities are a University library which consists of various new books, a computer lab .With Internet access, an Audio-Visual Center (AVC) equipped with cable TV, table recorders, facilities and a canteen with TV and music amenities and so forth.
