International (wrestling)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The International is a sequence of moves that is used in a professional wrestling match.
It consists of
- Both wrestlers locking up in a grapple
- One wrestler taking their opponent in a headlock
- The wrestler in a headlock pushing their opponent in the ropes sending them off.
- The wrestler just been thrown off the ropes comes back to their opponent by knocking them down with a shoulder block.
- The wrestler who just took their opponent down will then run off the ropes and go over their opponent while the other wrestler slides towards them (called a 'Sleep').
- As the wrestler goes over their opponent he comes back and ducks under their opponent while that wrestler jumps into a leap frog.
- The wrestler that just leap frogged will then hip toss their opponent.
This is a strategy used to get the face over with the fans.
It is also possible for the heel to 'out-think' their opponent by reversing the hip toss into their own.
Sean Waltman (X-Pac) uses this sequence in his matches.
